Welcome to my website … and my life.
I am Carolyne Jasinski – journalist, editor, travel writer, accidental photographer, media specialist and now Footloose & Fancy Free-lance.
“The world is at your feet,” my mum told me many moons ago, so I took her literally and have followed those feet to some amazing places. And I have been lucky enough to write about it all – encouraging people to follow in my footsteps or warning them to tread carefully.
This website lets me gather all that work in one place and put it on show.
It’s also time to gather my thoughts and maybe start a journal. I hate the term “blog”. I am a journalist, so a “journal” it will be!
If it’s a travel writer you need, you’ve come to the right scribe.
I’ve gone to the ends of the earth and plenty of places in between for a good story.
I’ve swum with whale sharks, climbed mountains in Antarctica, chased polar bears in the Arctic, jumped out of planes and into canyons and gone on camel safaris in the Outback. That’s the thrill-seeking.
But there is a frill-seeking side of me that also loves lapping up luxury and reviewing all sorts of accommodation and high-end experiences … and telling the world what a great time I’ve had.
And then there is the news hound in me. I have reported on everything from rural and community news, to the 100th anniversary of the Anzac landing in Gallipoli and trudged through the battlefields on the Western Front in Europe.
If you need a media specialist, you’ve come to the right expert.
Funding all of that travel has been a long career in the media industry – 30-odd years (and I say “odd” in the nicest possible way) working for News Corp across Australia.
I’ve got it all covered from content creation and strategy to editing, multi-platform publishing, design and production.
If it’s a travel guru you need … you’ve come to the right person.
I am a specialist in the travel industry from writer and editor to tour guide, cruise host and public speaker.
And in my spare time, I have created two travel apps and co-authored two books.
I hope you enjoy reading where I have been and stay tuned for the next adventure.
